This site is here to share the recipes I’ve discovered while living in Hong Kong.
You’ll find Cantonese cooking of course, but also recipes from mainland China (Sichuan, Shanghai, Xinjiang and so on) along with dishes from other Asian countries (Thailand, Vietnam…). And, of course, a few French or European dishes I packed along in my suitcase.
I try to stay as close as possible to the traditional recipes, adapting only at the margins (mostly the chilli level). These aren’t original creations or fusion dishes.
My approach is that of an amateur: simply passing on what I’ve discovered and come to love here. It’s a tribute to a cuisine and, beyond it, to the culture that gave it shape.
What’s in my cupboards? — a tour of the ingredients I cook with.

Chicken congee
Congee is a superstar in Hong Kong but is eaten throughout China and beyond. Often enjoyed at breakfast or even at other times of the day.
